The Syn class was ordered and completed in the 1930s as Belka's primary complement of post-Dreadnought battleships. Heavier and slightly slower than their Osean counterparts, Erusean examples fared well against CUS vessels until encountering the Bannionclass UCS Unity, which sunk two Syn class vessels in a single engagement.
The Belkan Federation kept its Syns in service into the 1990s with moderate modernization programs, but they were generally regarded as tertiary to Belkan naval strategy compared with smaller and more mobile vessels. As a result, only the FBS Syn was modernized with air defense systems, and she was lost to a relatively low-tech Galaxy class cruiser's torpedoes.
Ships
FBS Syn (B6) - The lead ship of her class, the Syn served well into the 1990s but was lost to the Galaxyclass OFS Constellation (CGN-39) in the Futuro breakthrough operation.
FBS Saga (B7) - The Saga managed to avoid being sunk throughout most of the Belkan War through her being stationed on the northern coast, but an Allied airstrike in mid-May.
FBS Lofn (B8) - The Lofn was among the first targets of Allied forces upon entering the Great Lakes, and was overwhelmed by a coordinated airstrike from the Kestrel's air wing and ground-based OADF bombers.
HIMS Hel (BB-1) - Manufactured by Weyland Heavy Industries under license in the 1930s, the Hel harrassed CUS shipping in the Atlantic throughout the Great Usean War until she was sunk by the Bannionclass UCS Unity (BB-04) in 1937.
HIMS Hermóðr (BB-2) - The Hermóðr was first stationed in the Cascade Ocean, but transitioned to the Atlantic to take part in the climax of the Great Usean War. Along with her sister ship, the Hel, she was sunk by the Unity.
